For a guy who used to spend five years between albums, Trent Reznor's been pretty busy recently - and yesterday, without warning, he released another NEW Nine Inch Nails album, for free, from his website. Not only that, but you can choose what format you want it in - high quality MP3s, FLAC, M4A Lossless, or even 24 bit 96k wave files. And it's all DRM free, and when you download it, he encourages you to send emails to your friends with the link in it so they can download it too. AND... the larger formats are all distributed via torrents.
Apparently this is all a thankyou to how well Ghosts did, financially at least. Doing it independently means he made $1.6million, despite its difficult nature, apparently, so this is how he repays his fans.
Awesome. I hope the album is actually pretty good and not a throwaway, haha.
The unpacking is almost done... but the windows and drains need re-fixing, again. Ah well. And I've got a tax form to fill out, an IR3 - I've never filled out one of these things in my life, so I think I'll have to call them and ask what I have to do.
